Hello ma’am !
I m pursuing BSC(mathematics) and will graduate in june 2010.
i applied for WASE program,, bt i didnt get any information regarding to the entrance test,, but den on 19-feb2010 i got call from wipro office(Bangalore) that if i want to give exam again,,, and they asked me for the venue of the entrence i prefer .
so please could you clear me out that if i can able to give exam again or not… !!

@ Rohan : MS degree from BITS , Pilani is easily one of the most recognized and sought after college degree … Yes , even we were apprehensive about this particular glitch … What kind of a degree is WASE providing us … After a careful bit of research and with proper dialogues with people concerned (read BITS Alumni and Professors) we were satisfied that indeed MS degree holds a lot of value in the recruiter’s eyes and coupled with a 4 years exposure to IT Industry .. its a potent combination

@ Alvera ROdrigues : MS is one of the most recognized degrees not only in India but all over the world… There is a proposal by Mr. Kapil Sibal that are aiming to change our system from B.Sc. /M.Sc. to BS ( 4 years) /MS (4 years)

@ Reman : Just because you are bitter about the WASE program does not means its a bad program

@Rajasekar : I am a WASEian for the past 3 years and found the WASE experience quite enriching … Though I cannot divulge in what kind of projects/technologies I am working in (not because WIPRO forbids me so.. its my choice to remain loyal to them) I find most of the projects quite challenging … Its a unique experience where you have to juggle life like anything… At one end you have to slog for 5 days a week and be prepared for weekend classes for you MS…

Its quite disappointing to see that you are trashing WASE on really baseless grounds… Its quite impossible for the management to terminate your services on such flimsy grounds … I have seen very few WASEians being fired that too on integrity issues or they repeatedly failing in their exams…. and there is no salary structure of 17000 …

I don’t think warranty should be an issue.

I did a TFN of my own with my brothers and close friends. Same route, but different dates. I and my brother did it on our RR 5.3.

I don’t think other bikes are as superior as the price we pay for them.

Hi kavya…
I’m a Wase student doing my 2nd year…
MS Degree from BITS is a Regular Certificate only which is a dream of more ppl like me…
So dont be confused…
But 1 thing i want to say is if they posted u in Chennai, then ask for transfer to Bangalore or Pune…
Bcz in Chennai, the exams are very tough to pass…
But in Bangalore its good to study and get reasonable marks…
In Pune its very easy to score high marks in MS…
The grades u score in MS will speak in wipro after the completion of MS…
you can get paid more (Rs 35000 0r 37000 Or 40,000 depenging on ur grades)…
So…

Thanks Sharada,

You gave me a lot of peace of mind with this. Now 5.2 or 5.3 will be decided once I get my Decathlon membership. Of course I have a couple of friends who have membership and can help me buy, but I guess it would be better to get it in my name for warranty and support. What do you say for that!

Also which bike did you take for the TFN (assuming you went).

I know people associate the brand value (and hence price premium) with Trek, Cannondale and Merida to some extent. But are they THAT MUCH superior?

If you are planning to visit B’lore, I can take you to the store personally and assist you with the purchase. Call me @ 9164753571 and we can discuss how we can go about it. I will even try to ask whether the bike can be transported to Mumbai. It might cost a bit more because of the transport charges.

Nikhil, I am not a material specialist to comment on the quality of the components with scientific evidence. The bike has fared very very well. I am happy.

I can understand how people give you reviews about Trek and Merida as compared to RR. We have a Merida SUB20, Trek 4300 too. But I and my youngest brother use RR5.3 and we have been very very happy with the bike. Initially we had problems getting used to the new posture (riding style is considerably different than riding Merida or Trek). Now we don’t have any such issue. I love the value I got for the money I put in. We are highly satisfied.
