Today one of my friends was shocked to find out that the pesticide content in cola is a result of ground water (GW) contamination and not the process of cola’s manufacturing. Same is the case with our bottled water.
The story of water contamination in India is pretty straight forward. As you all know, we have two sources of freshwater – Surface Water and Ground Water.
Let us first consider surface water. India recives good amount of rainfall. Its geography has given rise to well distributed network of seasonal and perennial rivers. But the rivers face two types of problems. (more…)
