Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Today I found out that my Brahmagiri trek photos have been added to Panoramio layer of Google Earth.

Open Google Earth,  Enable Panoramio layer. Search for Srimangala, India. Move to south west of that location and you will find my snaps…

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Today I purchased two year Flickr Pro account. Flickr is very intelligent. It knows how to limit users and compel them to get a Pro Account.

RoboGEO

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Geotagging your photographs could get messy sometimes. Though I have GPS receiver, D300 and necessary interface cables, I prefer not to connect my GPSr to D300 as the set up gets bulky. The other option is to use a software to synch up the GPSr tracklog with the timestamps of the photographs.

I decided to use and purchased a license for the same. RoboGEO offers lot of flexibility. Check their website

Nandi Hills – Arkavathi Janadesha Padayatra

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Today I along with nine of my friends (Diwi, Chitra, Parthibha, Vishy, Priya, Ravi, Subhash, Nagasreenivas and Amitangshu) left for Nandi Hills.

We reached Nandi Hills at around 7:30 AM. We missed the sun rise. But we could spend about 3 hours practicing random photography.

From there we arrived at Chickarayappanahalli for the inaugural function of Arkavathi Janadesha Padayatra. The function started at around 12:00Pm and ended at 2:30 with lunch. The walk followed. Nagasreenivas and Amitangshu joined the walk while rest of us spent some time in the catchment area and reached Bangalore at around 8:00PM

What defines a personality?

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

I am a Nikonian

I am a biker

I am a trekker

I am …..

What is it that defines our  personality? What is it that defines our identity? Is it our profession of what we do to earn a living? Is it our hobbies of the way we like to spend our free time? Or is it what we dream about?

I would call myself a dreamer!  For me life is all about dreaming and realizing them…

Your future lies in your dreams… Go back to sleep!!!

K2K on Mid-Day

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

I received a call on 10th evening when I was on my way back from Chitradurga to Bangalore from Sanchitha Sen of Mid-Day. One of my friends had forwarded the details of my K2K trip to her.

Here is what she churned out from that phone call and my email and published on today’s Mid-Day

I never knew that journalism is that easy!

My baby has arrived

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Today I met Hemanth and got my D300. Camera looks simple but it is one of the most complicated gadgets I have handled so far.

I am going through the manual and fiddling with the settings with a hope to learn something in next two or three days…

Right Exposure

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Today when I tried shooting at different apertures, I learnt a new rule…

Keep the shutter speed low at higher zoom level. Else your images would appear shaky…

Use a larger aperture and a higher shutter speed to get the right exposure.

But will this formula work always ?
